Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On October 6 I am off to take part in another challenge to raise money for the Ravenwood Children’s Trust to include the amazing St Nicolas Hospice in Bury st Edmunds, somewhere which touches all our hearts.

The jungle marathon is regarded by many of those in the know as the toughest of the tough. The Amazon Rainforest presents unique challenges found in few other environments on Earth, ultra-marathon runners can push their bodies to the limits left unchecked in drier and cooler climes.

Following on from my successful completion of the Marathon Des Sable last year, I know that exercise in the Amazon will be a world away from my run in the Sahara. The Jungle Marathon attracts few competitors and has even fewer finishers!

The self sufficient runners will take one week, carrying their own food and equipment through primary Amazon jungle in Brazil with debilitating humidity, struggling through swamps and encountering the most hostile environment in the world .

This taxing and exhilarating 222km challenge is the most difficult I have attempted so
