Mencap wants a world where people with a learning disability gain an equal right to choice opportunity and respect. We believe that support for the families and carers of people with a learning disability is vital to achieving our vision

Story

Stop the press, Mike Beaumont who is an avid walker decides to do the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride.

Your eyes do not deceive you, Mike has put aside his walking boots for the event.  As some of you know I do a bit of cycling myself so he has asked me to tag along.  The ride which is 60 miles was originally going to be completed by Mike on his mountain bike which he got for the princely some of £35 from a car boot sale!!  As this should be a fun event rather than a suicide mission I convinced him he really should be doing it on a road bike and offered to lend him one of mine.  Mike being Mike took this one stage further and decided to buy his own, a brand new Giant racer.

CFS have entered a team of riders into the Manchester to Blackpool cycle ride on 10th July in order to raise money for Mencap.  The Manchester to Blackpool ride is actually run on behalf of Christies so we have agreed with Mencap that 20% of the total CFS amount raised will go to Christies - two great charities.
