Warwick RAG Machu Picchu Trek · 5 September 2016
On the 5th September 2016, I will (hopefully) start my trek to Machu Picchu in Peru. Over that week, I will encounter things a sheltered, privileged girl from Cheshire would never dream of subjecting herself to. However, despite my clear lack of physical and psychological strength, I will be walking 5-8 hours a DAY to raise money for Make A Wish UK, a charity that I wholeheartedly support and love for the generous and life-changing work they do. If you don't know what they do (although a lot of the clue is in the name, they are wish granting fairies to children with life-threatening illnesses), check this video out: (this wish was my absolute favourite) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYZssPQ9JOU
My fundraising target is £3000, which ultimately sounds more scary than trekking for 8 hours every day for a week. Literally, any little helps, even just £1 will make such a difference to Make a Wish AND to my stress levels. Going to Peru has been a dream of mine since I learned what Machu Picchu was and to do it while supporting my favourite charity in the UK is just amazing.
So... Please, please, please, help me, by donating or sponsoring or just generally sending me supportive messages reminding me that I have a year to turn from an actual potato into a healthy, trek-loving 20 year old (which, if we're facing reality, will NEVER happen, but a girl can dream...) If you donate, God will love you, I will love you, Obama will love you... the list goes on. I'll also think of you and your kind, angelic ways as I struggle on with the endless walking.
Thank you for reading (and hopefully donating), love you all!
Charlotte xoxo
