Story

Breast cancer really is a massive pain.

As many of you may know, 8 years ago my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer which she brilliantly beat. Unfortunately, as she so delicately put it last year, "bit rubbish- I've got it again".

She has dealt with this with typical optimism, good humour and can do attitude and will absolutely beat it again. Being unable to partake in operations or chemotherapy myself however I thought I would try and do something positive off the back of this.

Breakthrough breast cancer does some brilliant work researching new treatments, discovering causes, promoting early detection and ensuring the best possible care for women with the disease. However doing all this great stuff requires lots of money...

So I decided I would try and do someting about that. Many of you may have heard my views on asking for sponsorship and so I felt I had to do something particularly silly, so I have entered a 100km (62miles if you prefer imperial) ultra marathon run along the Thames from Putney Bridge to Henley  in September 2014. Quite frankly, even I think this a stupid thing to be doing- the volume of training is brutal and it is going to really really hurt a lot- (update: Shin splints really really hurt!). So I think that is a good reason for you to dig deep.

Thank you for reading and any contribution is massively appreciated!
