Following the visit to Qatar by Mark Cook, the founder of Hope and Homes for Children earlier this year, I have had a strong passion to support his charity.  Hope and Homes for Children sets up homes for children who have lost their parents and homes as a result of war, disease or other conflicts, giving orphaned children hope for a brighter future. So, donning my musty, old trainers and getting out into the sweltering heat of the Gulf seemed like one good way to raise a bit of money.  With the aid of a gas mask, bucket loads of chocolate, and a motor attached to the soles of each foot, I'm hoping to complete the half marathon before it gets dark and the organisers pack up and go home!  Now, there's a challenge!
