My story

Post swim update: We swam 1281 lengths which equates to 32Km and 1 length. Of that, the staff swam 940 lengths which is 23.5Km (so well beyond our initial target of 20Km).

So far we've raised nearly £1200 in donations to this page, and to another set up for the swim, and Gift Aid will add over £250 . Thank you all for your donations, we've had an amazing response and are very grateful for all the support we've had.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our CLFS 2010 Swimathon JustGiving page.

Several of us at Freemen's have decided to raise funds to support Marie Curie Cancer Care with our own Swimathon. Some of us will try to swim 200 lengths, a mere 5 km, on our own and others will attempt to swim that distance as part of a team. However we complete the distance we hope that you will sponsor us and support Marie Curie.

Marie Curie Nurses provide day and night care and support to people with cancer and other terminal illnesses. It costs £20 to provide one hour of nursing care and every £1 raised will make a difference. If you want to know more about Marie Curie Cancer Care here's their web address: http://www.mariecurie.org.uk/

We don't mind how you sponsor us, either through this website or offline, we just want your money!  Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Our Swimathon takes place in the CLFS pool on Sunday 25th April between 12 noon and 4pm. If you would like to come and cheer us on and support us we'll be pleased to see you.

So please dig deep and sponsor us for as much as you feel able.

Thanks again for your support for this worthwhile charity.
