Story

23rd April Update: I finished the marathon yesterday with a time of 04:07:49! Thanks to everyone for all their kind support and generosity over the past 6 months, it's been amazing running for the UoB Cancer Fund and raising over £1300!!! Thank you!!

Thanks a lot for visiting my page! As you may be aware, I'm going to be running the London Marathon this year in aid of Bristol University Cancer Research. It would be great to have your support, any amount you can donate will be gratefully received!

I'm also going to be tweeting my training until the big day so feel free to follow along: @CMLDNMarathon.

I first started running when I came to Bristol over three years ago. I've now run 4 half-marathons in Bath, Bristol and Oakville and I'm excited to be taking on the next logical step - a marathon! For the past three years I've also worked for the University Telethon, keeping in touch with Bristol Alumni and fundraising towards all of the great causes at Bristol University.

One of these areas include the Cancer Research Fund which awards grants to promising cancer researchers in the initial phases of research. The investigation undertaken looks at ways to prevent and treat all of the major cancers including breast, bowel, laryngeal, oral, prostate cancers and leukaemia. While all research is based at the University, results have a national and international implications. In the last twelve months, nine pivotal cancer research projects have started thanks to the generous support of donors.

If you could spare any cash at all for such a worthwhile cause, both the Bristol Cancer Research Fund and I would be so grateful.

Christian x
