Story
This year marks the 10th year of the Lloyds Banking Corporate Commercial Banking Challenge.
The challenge will consist of teams of 4 competing in over 30 physical and mental tasks throughout the day to earn points and the most points wins. We get wet, muddy, blisters etc but do have a lot of fun. This years challenge will see us run around Clapham Common in the bid to become champions!
The most important part of the day is to raise funds for our partnered charity Mental Health UK.
OUR CHARITY
Mental
Health UK is a network of four national charities working across England,
Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland to improve the lives of people with mental
illness, and to support carers. Together Rethink Mental Illness, Support In Mind
Scotland, Hafal, and MindWise have worked for over 40 years to provide services,
information, and advice to support anyone
affected by mental illness."
Together, we will establish the UK’s first combined Mental Health and Money
Advice Service. It will offer practical, personal guidance and information for
any member of the public who is worried about their finances as a result of
mental illness, or vice versa.
- £10 could allow an advice worker to answer a call from
someone in desperate need of advice and support with their mental health and
money problems. - £20 could help us establish and maintain a unique new
online website, providing information so people can get advice on mental health
and money 24 hours a day - £100 could help train an advice worker to provide
one-to-one support. - £500 could help fund 3 advice workers for a day, providing
people with the tools to support them and take their first steps to managing
their mental health and money. - £1,500 could fund an advice worker for 2 weeks, helping us
to answer calls and online queries from people, often in desperate need of
support, helping them to find a way forward.
The 2017 CB Challenge will be another rewarding opportunity for colleagues to
have a fun day out, while contributing to this great cause.
