Insurance Day of Giving · 8 November 2018 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Insurance United Against Dementia – The Insurance Day of Giving

Dementia is an indiscriminate cruel disease that already affects over 850,000 people in the UK. That figure will rise to over 1 million by 2021.

In September 2017 the Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) launched with the aim of raising £10m over the next 10 years to support dementia research and to raise awareness across the insurance sector. Notable insurers and brokers, including Aon, JLT, PIB and Lockton are in partnership with IUAD.

On Thursday 8 November the insurance industry is coming together to support the first ever Insurance Day of Giving. If every one of the 300,000 people working in the insurance industry donated just £1, the IUAD could fund 10 PHD researchers for an entire year.
