Story
Mathew Fest is a 3 day event celebrating the life of Mathew
David Harvey starting on Friday 8th September. I will be running a 10k race as well as playing the gig on the Sunday night.
Friday evening consists of a few drinks and a chance to celebrate Mathew and chat about the good times you spent with him. On Saturday we will be taking part in a sponsored Walk, Run or Cycle to raise money for The Samaritans and the weekend will end with a gig to celebrate Mathew as the fantastic musician that he was.
Mathew was a kind, caring and considerate man; a loving son and brother and an absolutely incredible father. For those of you who knew him well, you know he did so many good things for other people and brought joy and happiness to the lucky ones he opened up to. He was kind and gentle, a very passionate person who was always up for a laugh and was always the entertainer.
I will remember him for being the shield through my childhood, who looked after me through the hardest times, the most important time of my life when I needed him, who I had so much fun with and could turn to whenever I needed him. A friend forever and one in a million, someone who would do anything for you and would look out for you forever.
I have so so many wonderful memories of Mathew for which I will cherish forever. He was not just my friend he was my brother and I can honestly say some of the best days of my life was spent with him. He made my life better and I will never forget that. This is why Mathew Fest is so important to me not only to celebrate and remember Mathew, but to also raise awareness and do as much as we can to raise funds for the Samaritans.
All proceeds made from this weekend will be donated to The
Samaritans. The Samaritans is a registered charity aimed at providing emotional support to anyone in distress or struggling to cope with day to day life. Everyone in emotional distress should feel confident that they have access to the support services they need – you are not alone, talk to someone, they are there to help.
Thank you for taking time to read and your donation it is very much appreciated.
