Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the back of raising funds whilst participating in the UK Corporate Games I thought why not see if I can get a few more pennies whilst waddling along the streets of Edinburgh this weekend. I will be taking part in the Edinburgh marathon my 17th to date. It is also going be a hot weekend so I will need to wear a vest. I have a Cancer Research vest at home from a previous marathon and felt if I was to wear it I must try to raise some money else I'll feel like a fraud. So if you can spare some money myself and Cancer Research would be grateful.

Update on the UK Corporate Games. Out of 27 companies in our division CSC came 2nd. Which was a fabulous achievement. For myself I came 2nd in my 5k and the team came 2nd in the relay. Paul came 3rd in his singles and 6th in doubles. Nigel and the football team came a creditable 7th. Thanks again for the support.

3 of your FS EMEA colleagues have been selected onto team CSC.

PAUL BISHOP - Hi, I'm representing Team CSC in the old peoples badminton events. I'm playing in the over 40 singles and the over 40 doubles with Bill Lee from the BAE Systems account ... who I've never met before! I'm counting on there not being many people silly enough to play singles into their 40's to give a me a chance of scoring some points for the team. Training has gone well and Bill and I have arranged to discuss our detailed doubles tactics in the bar of the Premier Inn on Thursday night. I'm looking forward to the events, meeting the rest of the CSC team and making some new friends.

NIGEL GATEHOUSE - Hi, I have been chosen to represent Team CSC at the Corporate Games playing 11-a-side football. The format is 30 minute games with 10 minutes extra time then penalties to decide result, WHEN (a little confidence doesn't do anyone any harm) we reach the final we could play 6 games over the Saturday and Sunday. Each member of the squad is awarded points so first place would help towards the final CSC points total. We will need to gel quickly as a team having only met up a few times before the competition, it is likely that there will be some established company sides that play regularly. I'm looking forward to the competition, visiting Liverpool for the first time and representing CSC.

NIKKI HARRIS - When I first saw the email requesting people submit their sporting CV's to get onto Team CSC for this event I couldn't wait and was so excited. However now being selected for the 5k running race and a 4 x 1500m relay, later the same day, I am very concerned. Those that know me know that I run (well I'd call it waddle), slowly and for long periods of time. I am now being faced with a sprint!!!!!! Which will be a huge challenge and will probably kill me off for the rest of the day. However I then have to prepare myself for an even faster relay event. The rest of my team are incredibly fast so I hope I don't let them down too much, but I will try my best not to.

As well as all the hard training we have put in ,the event would like us to raise money for Cancer Research so I am asking you please to donate some money to Cancer Research as well as showing your support to your CSC colleagues for this weekends event. No amount is too small, every little bit will mean a huge amount to Cancer Research of which I am sure most of you will agree is a very worthwhile charity.
