The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

My name is Popcorn, and I am a year old Shih-poo. I will be doing a Charity Sailing challenge with my owner Iona Reid. This challenge will take place the entire 2018 sailing season. I am hoping you would like to support a dog and her girl to raise money for two great charities: Water Aid and Guide Dogs.

When the weather is good I will sail with my crew mate Iona who is a keen sailor and started sailing five years ago at the age of 7. We will sail up to 3 times a week and hopefully more, We will also do special events such as courses, junior sessions, and casual sailing.

We are not asking for your support for free, We are willing to work for your donation. Iona will advertise your company in the following ways.

- T-Shirt with your company Logo on it over her wet suit worn during a race
- Sticker (supplied by you) on our dinghy
- Baseball cap with company logo (worn on non-windy days)
- On our website
- If you have stickers that will go on a sail we would be willing to put them on.
- Sticker on her Helmet (worn on windy days)

We will also mention you on our website, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook page.

We are located next to the Attenborough Nature Reserve, Every weekend hundreds of families, dog walkers, runners and cyclists pass by us, so they will see your logo.

You can choose which of the two supported charities we are supporting to donate to: Iona is supporting WaterAid and I am supporting Guide Dogs. This page is for donations to go to Guide Dogs.

Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.

I wish I was big enough to be a guide dog!
