Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
Colchester United's players have launched a significant fundraising mission for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The U's squad got together after hearing the sad news that loyal U's supporter Emily Begg had passed away after a battle with leukaemia, aged just fourteen.
Emily had become a good friend of the squad, following a number of visits to the ground during her illness over the past couple of years.
As a result, the lads are embarking on a fundraising quest for the Teenage Cancer Trust, who help youngsters with cancer and other related illnesses.
"Emily used to come to games last season and this season and meet the lads and you could see straightaway that she really loved the club and the players," defender Wayne Brown said.
"It hit home that we were fortunate to be in the position we are in when there are others who do not have that good fortune.
"When we heard the news, the squad - to a man - decided we wanted to do something to raise money and awareness.
"We did this in memory of Emily and we hope that a lot of money can be raised for the Trust, which is where Emily said that she wanted any monies raised sent to."
The squad are hoping that the fans - and the wider public - will make donations to the Teenage Cancer Trust to help the charity with their research and care needs.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Teenage Cancer Trust will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please donate generously.
Many thanks for your support.
