Right ladies and gentlemen – the announcement you have all been waiting for….....I Ms Cailín Hardy have committed myself to fighting in a white collar charity boxing match!!!

YES ME!!!
AND YES ME BOXING!!!!

The girl whose only experience of fighting was the summer of ‘87 when I was repeatedly “close-lined” by my loving older brother!!

 

To say I’m nervous about this is an understatement!! It's the scariest challenge I have ever set myself. But you know what – if ya aren’t in then ya can’t win!!

SO...i'm volunteering to get in the ring with the ferocious Terrier and ruin her AS YET undefeated boxing title!

It'll be some night and hilarious if nothing else - think Cheevy Chase meets Fight Club!

Ok people now down to the real purpose of this match – to raise much needed money for a heartbreaking cause! We all read stories about the terrible injustice and cruelty of childhood cancer but it’s easy to feel that it’s beyond your capabilities to help – poor wee thing but sure what can you do? - well here is a story so close to home that you can help!! 

You all know I NEVER make direct personal pleas for help and I hate putting people under pressure to support something or donate to something but I’m sorry people it has to be done.  More and more wee babies and children are being diagnosed with that scary, indiscriminate, ruthless b*st*rd that is Cancer and with the economy in the state it’s in not everyone can get the drugs and medical treatment they need, or with the demand on our overburdened NHS they don’t get them in time – so here is an opportunity to take matters into our own hands and help a family (a real family who lives nearby and my friend from school) raise money for their little boy to get the treatment he desperately needs!

I won’t try and emotionally blackmail you with the details of what this wee man has had to go through so far but please take a minute and read some of his blogs – this is wee Oscar………...
