Story

Thanks for visiting our page. We are organising our own event this year which is a bikepacking trip to cycle The Cairngorms Loop. As the name suggests, the ride is based in the Cairngorms and is approx 181 miles in length with approx 11000ft of climbing involved. 2 of us taking part are riding singlespeed and we are all sleeping outdoors for the duration of the ride which we are aiming to complete in 4 days all being well. We will be carrying all of our sleeping kit aswell as food and supplies on the bikes.

We have done BHF rides for the last few years, but this years ride is special due to health issues for some of my very best and special friends. Our friend Alex has recently discovered that she has a heart condition and at the age of just 16 it's especially poignant. The condition she has is called Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome along with Supra Ventricular Tachycardia. Alex has already had multiple visits to Gt Ormand Street hospital and with further visits planned it's a testing and challenging time for her along with trying to concentrate on school work, coursework and revision leading up to GCSE time. It is for this reason I have decided to dedicate this ride to Alex and her mum Susie and hopefully raise as much money as possible for this great cause :-)

Please dig deep and no matter how big or small the donation we are very grateful !

Lees reason for taking part in this mammoth challenge on behalf of the BHF

"The rides we do for the BHF have taken on a more significant roll for me in the last 18 months, before it was a nice excuse to get out for a ride while raising some money at the same time. However a week before the London-Milton Keynes ride we did in October 2015 my mum passed away from a massive heart attack brought on by her rheumatoid arthritis, she was only 60 years old, totally out of the blue and a complete shock to everyone.

All donations are very much appreciated......thanks Lee"
