Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year my family and I were host families for Chernobyl Children’s Life Line charity, who aim to bring child victims of the Chernobyl disaster to the UK for recuperative breaks. They came for three weeks and whilst here had visits to the opticians and dentists along side a full and exciting program of activies.
Imagine: Living the rest of your life in a radioactive polluted environment. There is no escape. Money cannot buy protection. The World Health organisation (W.H.O.) state that 500,000 children in Belarus are at risk.
Imagine: Eating contaminated food that may harm you, but what else can you do?
Imagine: Coming to the UK and eating fresh food and breathing fresh air and going home with your immune system recharged.
Imagine: Knowing that people DO care.
I am going to cycle solo and unsupported from Lands End to John O'Groats carrying everything for camping, cooking and bike maintenance with me. I am starting on the 25th April and hope to complete the (approximately) 1000 miles in 10 days. Not having done anything like this before I have got a few spare days should 100 miles a day prove too much.
I have put a lot of effort into training and preparation for this, and still have plenty more to do over the next 6 weeks.
Chernobyl Children’s Life Line charity ( http://www.ccll.org.uk ) does fantastic work and to continue this we need to raise funds.
Please donate as much as you can as every little helps and together we can continue to make a difference.
