Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity (Alex TLC) was founded in 2004 by a mother whose two sons had been diagnosed with leukodystrophy. She recognised the severe lack of information and support available and wanted to make sure that no one had to face leukodystrophy alone.

Story

Thank you for visiting one of two fund raising pages being managed by The Cambridge Spartans, this one for ALD Life. We want to raise awareness of, and help find treatments for the devestating disorder adrenoleukodystrophy. Brought to the forefront by the film Lorenzos Oil, this terrible disorder affects mainly boys from the age of around 8, and causes brain damage and total dependence, with no cure. We are doing this by racing over 3,000 miles in swim races, cycle sportives, running races and all distances of triathlon including 5 of us racing Ironman Wales and 7 of us racing The CowMan half iron distance between now and September (phew then will we get a beer?)

This is a very serious commitment in terms of time, effort, expense and emotion for all of us, and as well as helping our charities you will be letting us know you support us too, so thanks!
