Story

On the 10th of July last year, I had brain surgery at the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool to treat temporal lobe epilepsy. I went into status epilepticus on the operating table, meaning that I did not regain consciousness straight after the operation. The surgeon and anaesthetist stayed with me till late into the evening to care for me. I remained in a coma in intensive care for 2 days. Thanks to the brilliant work that the Walton Centre has done, I have fully recovered and I am now back to living a normal life, beginning university and having a reduction in seizure frequency and severity. I am running the Great Manchester Run 2018 to raise money for this amazing hospital that has done so much for me, so that more people can undergo neurological treatments at the Walton Centre.

Thanks,

Cameron
