WELL WE DID IT. WE HAD TERRIBLE WEATHER, WITH RAIN FOR AT LEAST 11 OF THE 12 HOURS IT TOOK. WE HAD HIGHS AND WE HAD LOWS BUT EVERYBODY PUT IN A STERLING EFFORT AND WE HAVE MANAGED TO RAISE £2002 FOR THE SCUNTHORPE SPECIAL CARE BABY UNIT. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO TOOK PART BUT BIGGER THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO KINDLY DONATED.
What are we doing?
On 25th June, a small team from Can-Pack UK are going to climb the 3 highest peaks in Yorkshire on a circular route beginning and ending at Horton-in-Ribblesdale. The route is 25 miles long and involves nearly 4000 foot of ascent, so it will be a testing challenge for all of us.
Who are we raising money for?
We are raising money for the Neonatal Unit at Scunthorpe General Hospital. The unit offers a 24 hour acute service to all neonatal babies who require specialised treatment.
The majority of the babies are born prematurely and may be in hospital for several months. Parents are encouraged to stay with their baby and are offered accommodation in residential flats situated on the ward. Once the babies have been discharged home a dedicated nursing team is available to support the families at home.
At CPUK we want to support the vital work that this unit does in the local community and therefore we have nominated them for our Charity Challenge this year.
