Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am about to undertake a coast to coast walk across England from the Lake District to Yorkshire. St Bees to Robins Hood Bay to be exact - a distance of approximately 200 miles. As many of you are aware I lost my mum and my aunt (Barb) to breast cancer at the ages of 48 and 58 respectively. So I am doing the walk in memory of these 2 wonderful ladies (and sisters) who I still miss so much. Both loved walking and both cultivated that passion in me.

The idea for this walk came from Barb. She was determined that one day she would walk the coast to coast. She had recruited me and her wonderful friend Karol to go with her. Unfortunately, she was never able to make it. So, in honour of her memory, and my mums, and to repay her for all the mountains I dragged her over when I was a teenager, we will now take on the challenge and try to achieve her dream.

According to David, when he first met Barb, she talked about our many hikes together and warned him  "if there was a hill I would find it, and every hill I hiked was uphill both ways". So I would like to thank all of my friends who have been walking and training with me on those never ending hills. You have helped make this happen.

We will be starting our endeavour on May 14th and hoping to complete it in about 10-12 days of walking and camping. And of course as all good Brits probably dropping by a couple of english pubs on the way to raise a toast to our cause!

We will be raising money for a wonderful cancer hospice - Nightingale house who support cancer patients at the time of their greatest need. It is a great cause and I would be very grateful for all donations large or small to help others dealing with this terrible disease.

Thank you all - I really appreciate your generosity as I remember my mum and Barb for all the good times we had, even though they were far too short.
