On 20th-22nd February we will be playing games for 48h straight, as part of the Uk's biggest charity gaming marathon, GameBlast 15.  

We will be streaming our efforts live on our Twitch channel: Twitch.tv/CandyLabs

A £10+ donation will also allow you to summon a player to do a challenge of your choice - which you will be able to watch them carry out on Twitch - just put your challenge as a comment when you make your donation.  Challenges can be anything you like; from Do the Macarena to Stand on one leg for 5 minutes or Stuff 15 marshmallows in your mouth. The challenges will then be drawn out of a hat periodically over the weekend :)

Special Effect put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games.

By using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control, they're finding a way for people to play to the very best of their abilities.

By levelling the playing field, they bring families and friends together and have a profoundly positive impact on therapy, confidence and rehabilitation.

Here's an example of the fantastic work they do...

Tiago, who's an engaging and sparky five year-old, has cerebral palsy. He finds it difficult to control his limbs, but he was already confidently using an eye-controlled computer to communicate and do his school work before we met him.

He was desperate to extend the use of his eye-gaze computer to play games, so he visited our GamesRoom where our team matched his abilities and interests to appropriate activities. You can see the fun he had in the short video.

This was just the start of a welcome journey into computer play for Tiago, and after the visit we worked with him at home, creating personalised software to allow him to enjoy games and activities.
