We provide wheelchairs and equipment to improve lives of young wheelchair users

Story

We’re aiming to raise £10,000 for Whizz Kidz by doing something seriously outside our expertise (and if it wasn’t such a good cause, we’d really be crazy to try)

All our demolition projects are completed to programme, but taking down buildings seems like a piece of cake compared to hiking up the three highest mountains in the UK and all within 24 hrs

The plan is to start early evening on Saturday 2 July 2011, and simply keep going until all three are done.  We’ll start with Ben Nevis in Scotland, then rest in the mini bus as we travel through the night to a very early start at Scarfell Pike in the Lakes before finishing with Snowdon the same day.   Stamina and traffic allowing, we aim to do this well within the 24 hour limit.

We’re already in training and making the most of the burgeoning spring to hike up as many hills as we can find…  We’ve yet to get to a mountain range, but that’s on the training schedule to tackle a couple before the big day!

We’re lucky.  The only thing standing in our way of doing this is our own fitness; we need to get training and get hiking.  The young people that Whizz Kidz aims to support aren’t so lucky.  There are still 70,000 children and young people waiting for the right wheelchair to help them live the life they should be living – as kids.

Please give generously to our challenge and together we can make sure Whizz Kidz can continue to provide kids with powered and lightweight manual wheelchairs, specialist trikes, and other vital mobility equipment.
