<p>Cara was born with Kostmanns Syndrome, a rare blood disorder that made it hard for her to fight infections. She was admitted to Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital for a bone marrow transplant in November 2010. Despite receiving donated stem cells from a perfectly matched donor cord she developed severe complications following transplant.&nbsp;</p> <p>Cara fell asleep just after her first birthday on 17th April, 2011 after a long fight. She was inspirational throughout her battle, always lifting the spirits and positivity of everyone around her and making us laugh even during the harder times.</p> <p>During her final weeks of life, Cara was treated by staff on the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where she was just too poorly to be moved for a much needed CT scan.
