I will be walking this years 10k because I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis after last years' race.  I still want to compete and push myself to raise money for Maggie's and will have to bear the pain because every penny helps .  Maggie's is the only charity that offers a programme of support meeting the practical, emotional and social needs of people living with cancer and their family and friends.  Maggie's was a place for my brother and I to retreat to following his visits to the oncology department.  They were so calm and welcoming, it lifted his spirits.  It also lifted mine after his death.
