The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

First of all, welcome to my JustGiving page!

2012 is the year of Olympiads, the year when records are broken, human boundaries are stretched and sporting legends are made! Since I've left it a bit late to join to GB squad, I've decided to run the EMF Half Marathon in Edinburgh instead with my friend Poh-Choo.

I will be fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support who do the most fantastic job of making a positive difference in the lives of those living with cancer. Their support services rely on 99% generosity from public support, so please give generously!

Let's have a look at some numbers:

1. One in three of us will get cancer at some point in our lives.

2. In the UK alone, there are approximately two million people living with cancer.

3. Every year in the UK, 300,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed.

I find those figures frightening, but we can do something about it - by supporting the great work Macmillan already does to make a real, positive difference.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more (win!), whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please, close your eyes and think of a very large number...and donate now!

Thank you!
