Carlton Celebrity Cricket is a quintessentially British day out with fabulous homemade teas available, also the opportunity to bring your own picnic. There is a really well organised, well stocked bar run by the village, a BBQ, a wonderful helter-skelter and fair rides, traditional stalls you would see at a fete, ice cream van, bouncy castle, face painting, raffle and the possibility of getting autographs of the stars and the players in wonderful surroundings.

 The cricket match takes place in the park of the Old Rectory in Carlton and is organised by local people. This will be the 8th match to raise funds for the Addenbrooke's Teenage Cancer Trust unit, East Anglia's Children's Hospices and English Schools Cricket Association.

 

We have raised at least over £100,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust and the English Schools' Cricket Association over the years and last year we shared the proceeds with East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices too.

The event would not happen at all without the wonderful Dave English and his loyal Bunbury Team, they have never failed us and we thank Harry Judd for being so loyal to the Home team for the first 6 years and for being a great captain, he has moved onto pastures new now so we wish him well. Lewis Mokler sang for us last year and we are delighted he will join us again this year, he is an up and coming young local singer.

It never fails to amaze me just how generous in spirit all these people are especially as Dad's field is not in the most convenient of locations, we really do thank them all most sincerely for everything they contribute
