I am delighted to welcome you all once again to the sixth Carlton Celebrity Cricket match at The Old Rectory. I know many of you have joined us at this fabulous event every year since we started and have invited your friends to do so too, which is absolutely great. Thank you so much for coming today.

We have been very fortunate that we have been generously supported by so many from the local community consistently over the years. Excell and Chimneys have been especially generous, and many other local businesses have repeatedly helped us out with prizes, advertising and lending or giving us things in order to reduce our costs and make the day all the better for our audience. We also have a seemingly un-ending supply of willing volunteers helping with most aspects of what happens today, (including this year, a large group of staff and students from Comberton Village College) to whom we are extremely grateful, so Thank you to you all.

The event would not happen at all without firstly Robin, my dad, who provides his pitch and of course the wonderful Dave English MBE and his amazing Bunbury team, they have never failed us and we thank Harry Judd for being so loyal to the Home team for TCT and for being a great captain leading his band of players out to battle with the Bunburys. It never fails to amaze me just how generous in spirit all these people are especially as Dad's field is not in the most convenient of locations. We really do thank them all most sincerely for everything they contribute.

We hope we will raise lots of money today for the TCT unit in Cambridge, so far we have raised at least £60,000 for them and of course we support the English Schools Cricket Association as well. Please use as many of the facilities provided for your enjoyment today, as possible, as every penny helps.
