Story

In Feb 2018 my son Jake suddenly became ill and spent months in bed with no energy, constant headache, brain fog and sore throat. He eventually improved and started to manage life again around July 2018. Fast forward to November 2018, he falls ill again twice within a couple of weeks of each other and spends another few weeks in bed no energy etc. December 2018 he starts to improve. Jan 2019 after just a week back at school and he falls ill again this time like last year he has spent months in bed, after countless blood tests and visits to hospital Jake was finally diagnosed with M.E/CFS. He is still struggling now and has only just started to manage a couple of hours twice a week and school, the rest of the time he spends resting.
This invisible illness has taken our football crazy son and it breaks my heart to see him not being able to do the things most young adults can.
Please help raise awareness of this cruel illness and donate whatever you can. There is very little support and information out there about ME and we have had to do our own research. Action for ME have a fantastic website which has a mass of information, it also has a dedicated forum for parents, children and teenagers to interact with each other. Without them we would be lost.
There is not enough support or understanding of this illness and more needs to be done to raise awareness and understanding through school, professional and the government.
