We have now returned from India where we took part in Cycle India 2010 -  We cycled 190 miles over a period of 4 days, through the state of Karnataka in Southern India. The money raised will go to Heal, a small UK charity looking after orphaned and underprivileged children in Andhra Pradesh, India.  Check out the Heal website at http://www.heal.co.uk/.

Having visited the Heal Children's Village and seen what Heal does with their money, we are now even more passionate about the cause than before. It's truly incredible what this charity is doing for so many children and the quality of life they are giving to children is amazing.

Heal is working hard to take children out of child labour and helping them get a good education so they can escape the cycle of poverty. All the money raised from Cycle India 2010 will be used towards HEAL's biggest ever project - a new model residential school for 1000 orphaned and underprivileged children.

In order to raise the target amount of £5000 we have undertaken a wide range of activities.

You can still buy our handmade bookmarks from The Vine Christian Bookshop in Hinckley - these have proven to be very popular!

It's also not too late to get your tickets for:

A Taste of India, Surma Restaurant, Holliers walk, Hinckley on Saturday 30th January 7pm fpr 7.30pm til late- £12 per ticket

A three-course Indian meal with entertainment (provided by DEA dhol drummers and DesiMasti dance academy) for £12 (included: poppadoms with dips, starter, a selection of curries, rice and naan). Tickets must be bought in advance and are available at The Prince of Wales Inn, Coventry Road; The Surma Restaurant, or from Carly or Laura directly. This should be a great night and as it is after our trip we will be sharing photos and experiences. There will also be a raffle and quiz and a chance to buy our handmade jewellery.

(Raffle tickets can be bought for £1 any time leading up to the event). We also have "Guess the Music Artist" quiz sheets available for £1.)

We also have some Sponsered Non-uniform days planned- Lutterworth High School and St. Peter's R.C. Primary School, Hinckley, have agreed to hold non-uniform days where the students pay £1 which will be donated to our charity.

Brighton Bead Shop- We are going to be the Charity of the Month in February so will receive 10% of the shop takings on the last Saturday in February.

Handmade Jewellery Sale - We had a sale on Tueday 15th January where we took £270.

We hope to see you at one or all of these events!

As you can see, we have been very busy planning and organising fundraising events, as well as training for the bike ride! This is a very worthy cause and the money we raise will make a massive difference to thousands of lives, so please dig deep and give generously! Thank you.

We have also had donations from friends on www.justgiving.com/cyclingroberts which have been added to the offline donations total on this page.
