We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Buxton High Peak Hack.   3rd September 2011

Hi all

I am on the charity fund raising trail again and my chosen charity this year is the NSPCC.

This is going to be a difficult one. It's been a couple of years since I did any serious walking ....  and I have never walked 1 mile in the Peak district let alone 24... but it will be worth it. I will probably loose weight and reduce my blood pressure while training (excellent !!!) but whats more important is I will be raising funds for a very worthwhile charity.

It's easy to sympathise and and express shock when we read and hear stories of child cruelty in the press and in the news, but it's then even easier to sit back and do nothing.  Now you have a chance to help.  I am helping by walking 24 miles in 12 hours in the Buxton High Peaks to raise money for the NSPCC.  Help this cause and sponsor me by donating on this page.

About the charity

The NSPCC's purpose is to end cruelty to children and their vision is of a Society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil there potential. In September 2008, the NSPCC launched it's 'Childs's Voice Appeal' to answer more children's cries for help. Every day, thousands of children and young people need to talk to Childline about a problem they face, while hundreds of caring adults call the NSPCC Helpline, worried about a child's safety. Join me in helping the NSPCC to lmake a gient leap towards their vision.
