The University is committed to raising £2 million to establish a ground-breaking MRI-PET facility in Sheffield. MRI-PET is the most advanced imaging technology to date. It will transform the understanding of serious conditions like Alzheimers, cancer, dementia, heart and lung diseases, MND, Parkinson's and stroke and the way we treat them in the future. This will be the first facility of its kind in Yorkshire and a vital investment in the health of people in this region, across the UK and beyond.
As many of you will know, my Mum has Alzheimers so this appeal is very important to me. I hope that the detailed pictures the scanner can produce of the inside of the body, will help answer major questions about these diseases and identify faster and better ways to detect, treat and even prevent many of these conditions.
Please donate as much as you can.
Thank you.
