The Hospice helps people to live their precious lives well. Our care has many forms – at home, in our outpatient Spring Centre or through specialised care in one of our Hospice beds - and is defined by each person's need. We rely on donations to raise the £6m we need each year to fund our free care.

Story

Caroline and Richard are doing the Strictly Learn Dancing challenge to raise money for St Francis Hospice.  We are learning to dance the Argentine Tango and the Samba over six weeks, alongside nineteen other couples and will take part in the Strictly Grand Finale on 15th March.  We thought it would be great fun to learn to dance together as well as raising money for a fantastic cause.

We first heard about this challenge through our friend Alan Robson whose late wife Sue was cared for by the hospice several years ago.  The hospice do some great work caring for terminally ill people, it costs £4million a year to run the organisation and only 25% of this is government funded, they rely completely on donations for their remaining funds.

Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated by us and everyone involved with the hospice.  If you would like to come to the final, tickets are available at £15 each, it really does promise to be a great night.  Please just contact either of us if you’d like to come.

Also, don’t forget if you’re a GE employee, GE will match your donation so just visit the website below and register your donation, all this will go towards the total we raise for the hospice.
