Event: Bupa Great North Run 2012, on 16 September 2012
We provide family-led care and support to children with life-limiting conditions

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I ran the Great North Run 7 years ago, lost 5 toenails as a result of blisters on my toes, and swore I would never do it again!  I suppose like childbirth the memory of the pain soon diminished and I found myself signed up for the London Marathon the following year.  Unfortunately due to injury I was unable to run and my running 'career' has been hit and miss since then.

I ran a 10k on 3 June 2012 which went well and obviously the success of this went straight to my head and I found myself signing up for the Great North Run again!!  Given the years that have passed since I last did this event and the pounds that have gone on in this time I am sure this will be no easy task.  I would ask for all the support you can give to help me get round and raise sponsorship for the well deserved charity I am running for.

Martin House Hospice cares for children and young people with progressive life limiting illnesses, and provide support for their families.  They have a purpose built hospice in Boston Spa, Wetherby and they care for children and young people from the Yorkshire area.
