Story
I am raising money for the British Heart Foundation.
As many of you will know my amazing brother-in-law, Mark Lihou, died suddenly and very unexpectedly from a massive heart attack just before Christmas. I miss him every day and still expect him to come through the front door whistling and instantly make me smile. I feel amazingly privileged that he was part of our lives, part of our family of 5, and wish that we had all had more time together.
Oliver, my 4 year old son, and Mark were inseparable. They had a rare bond. Oliver's current fascination is with cheetahs and how fast they can run and he believes that Uncle Mark will come back as a cheetah. The other day he said 'when I die mummy I'm going to be a cheetah too and I'm going to run and run through the grass until I find Uncle Mark'. So, whilst running isn't something I can do easily any longer due to injury I'm planning to walk the Manchester10k as fast as I can. I don't think I'll be providing the fastest land mammal with any kind of competition but I'm hoping Mark will slow down and walk alongside me!
