Hi All
I'm well off the mark with this one but please focus on the intention (not the fact that i've already completed the event and am now only seeking sponsorship..ahem..) Moving on..
I am a volunteer with the 100 Black Men of London (mentor/do whatever i can to help) and on 30 April I took part in our annual Black Heroes Walk (5km) fundraising event - which also focuses on the promotion of good health and wellbeing for people of all ages. All participants have to dress up as a Black Icon, and all the money goes directly to the work that we do. My chosen icon was Michelle Obama - a strong advocate of education and of maintaining good health.
We all volunteer our time for free so anything you give will be put to good work to support our many programmes, such as:
Community Mentoring Programme - for young boys & girls
Parents in Partnership Programme - helping parents take charge of the upbringing of their children
Black History Challenge - Inter schools history knock-out competition
Book Club
Education Through Film - showing films & documentaries on black history and cultural issues
Quality Time - a fun day out for Fathers and their Children
Family Fun Day - a fun day out for the whole family
Youth Debate - a debate on relevant topics for young people between 16 - 25
So I'd really appreciate it if you would sponsor me with however much or little you can spare!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
