Story

Thanks for visiting our page.

On May 20th 2012, We are taking part in the Eton Triathlon on 20th May in aid of L'Arche Kent.

After the last triathlon nearly killed me, I swore never to do this again. However, then I came across L'Arche Kent, and Steve's desire to take part, combined with my desire to help L'Arche, made us sign up. What better cause to suffer for???

So we'll be doing the following:

400m swim (sounds easy, but I can't do frontcrawl)

20km bike (I hate hills)

5km run (the less said the better)

We're trying to raise at least £500 which will help the community carry on doing the amazing work it already does in providing a safe and supportive environment for people with learning disabilities to live as equals with non-disabled people. Please dig deep and donate however much you can - even tiny amounts add up. The people of L'Arche Kent will be ever thankful, and the more money we get, the faster we will feel obliged to run!!

L'Arche Kent offers a community where people with learning disabilities can live independently, within the supportive environment of a community made up of disabled and non-disabled people. In this community people not only find a home, but also somewhere where they are accepted for who they are, as they are. The community currently provides a home for over 80 people across Kent, and as you can imagine, is therefore costly to run! Your donation wil help them to provide a safe and supportive environment for a lot of people.

To find out more about L'Arche Kent, visit: www.larchekent.og.uk. On that page you'll see several videos about the community, which will tell you more.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks!!
