We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm going to be running 10KM (that's just over 6 miles) around Greenwich Park on 11th October. It's a great event for me since I work in Greenwich, and the park is beautiful in autumn.

But it's also a very special and important event for me because any money that I, and all those running and walking with me, raise will go to help the search for a cure for diabetes.

I've been living with type 1 diabetes for over 25 years. I've pricked my finger to test my blood glucose millions of times. I've injected insulin in to my body hundreds of thousands of times. For the last seven years I've worn an insulin pump. I live a very active life. I CAN run 10KM around Greenwich park despite diabetes. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer not to have diabetes. I would prefer that none of the children diagnosed today have to live as many years with diabetes as I have already lived.

Please sponsor me to complete this challenge, and help JDRF make the dream of a cure a reality.
