From 7-9 October i will be going on a ladies challenge weekend involving a night walk, a 22 mile mountain walk and hopefully a skywalk (zip wires!!!) to raise money for the fantastic charity Mercy in Action. 'Since 1995, the UK charity Mercy in Action (MiA) has been transforming the lives of some of the world’s poorest of poor; in particular, our projects in the Philippines providing vital housing, medicine, food and schooling.' (http://www.mercyinaction.org.uk/) My good friend Val has participated for the past few years and has inspired me to take part in this.
My personal challenge will be leaving my beautiful girls for the weekend, especially Isabelle as i have never left her for longer that a few hours... Obviously the physical aspect will be a challenge too - i'm not the fittest person around but that fades in comparison with the thought of leaving my youngest at home! :(
I have to raise at lease £100 in order to take part but i would obviously love to contribute much more. Every penny makes a vast difference in the lives of the children and families that the charity is involved in and any contribution from £1 to £100 will be put to good use.
