SCAMPPS in Surrey is a registered charity that supports young children who have moderate to severe complex special needs living in Surrey. It has been set up by a group of parents who themselves have young special needs children.

Story

In 2002 our good friends John & Rachel had a little boy called Conor.  He was born with Down's Syndrome and yet nobody could have predicted what a positive impact he would have on all our lives.  Realising that there was a lack of support for families of children with special needs, they set up SCAMPPS, a Surrey based charity.  For the last year I have taken over the role of 'editor' of the SCAMPPS newsletter and been lucky enough to meet some of the amazing people who give up their time for this fantastic charity.  And yet the most unique thing about SCAMPPS is that all the people involved are themselves parents of children with special needs.

I've taught my children to understand diversity and appreciate the contribution that children like Conor bring to our society.  Luca is a privileged little boy and I know he won't be missing out this birthday.
