We are supporting a charity for Royal Marines so in typical 'bootneck' style we have aimed high with our cheeky London to Paris challenge.
Cash for Commandos is a charity close to our hearts as i am currently serving in the Royal Marines and Craig is an ex Royal Marine. We have been lucky enough to have never been injured whilst serving our country, unfortunately that is not the case for every Royal Marine.
Cash For Commandos is a charity that wants to give back to all the brave lads who have made big sacrifices for all of us and our country, sacrifices that have changed not only their lives but that of their families , forever.
These brave men have to start their life all over again if they have sustained a life changing injury. From being one of the fittest men around fighting for their country they now have to learn to live life another way which also takes it toll on them mentally.
We want to do as much as we can for the injured lads and also for lads who come back physically unscathed but have seen things that mentally will be with them forever.
So this is our challenge which we aim to undertake summer 2011.............
We plan to cycle from London to Folkstone which is just under 100 miles
From there we will hop into our kayaks and kayak the gruelling English channel aiming for Calais , France.
From Calais we will get back on our bikes and cycle another 100 miles.
We will conclude the challenge by running a leg pounding 50 miles into Paris finishing at the eifel tower.
We will constantly update how we are preparing and the actual challenge on the Cash for Commandos facebook page and website, why not follow us
Please visit the Cash For Commandos website www.cashforcommandos.co.uk and buy an official t shirt and start fundraising!
