My story

 

On 18th November I am going to Ethiopia with HOPE International Development Agency to volunteer at an AIDS Orphan project working with children and young people affected by AIDS and HIV.

HOPE is providing community-based care for some of the estimated one million AIDS orphans living in Addis Ababa. For children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, HOPE aims to ensure a decent education, as well as meeting their basic needs. Empowered with education and skills training, and cared for within their own communities, these children will have a chance at a new life, without resorting to the dangers of the sex trade to survive, and greatly lower their risk of contracting HIV/AIDS.

On 22nd November the HOPE team will take part in the Great Ethiopia Run to raise money for the HOPE projects in Ethiopia.  For those that know me well this is a huge leap out of my comfort zone but I am absolutely determined to run, jog, walk or crawl the race to raise funds so please dig deep and sponsor me.  Thank you!

Every penny raised will go to the HOPE projects in Ethiopia - I am paying for the trip myself.
