Cath loved her cycling, and as we all know, she tragically died while competing in a time trial on Wednesday, 4 August 2010.

Rather than accept floral tributes, her family have decided to encourage donations to her two favourite charities. "Cancer Research" for whom this page is applicable, and "The Stroke Association" which is on a seperate "Just giving" page - http://www.justgiving.com/Cathward-strokeassociation

Cath's urge to help these two charities stemmed from the death of her parents who she loved very much. Her father Pat died as a result of a stroke. Her mother, June, died from cancer some years later.

Cath raised money for these two charites in a variety of ways, including, in 2008, taking part in a London to Paris bike ride. She raised £1700 for the Stroke Association by so doing.

We know Cath would be happy to know that her friends donated to one or both of these two charities in her memory.
