At some point towards the end of a long and not entirely sober evening last August, entering the London Marathon seemed like a good idea.
For some reason, these initial feelings of enthusiasm prove somewhat elusive when faced with the prospect of any training activity which involves getting cold, wet, or up early. Low points to date include: (don’t laugh) being overtaken by a Yorkshire Terrier whilst training in Hyde Park; remembering too late that the London A-Z doesn’t show contour lines; and running through the picket lines at East Greenwich fire station.
On the flip side, there have also been those things that have made it all worthwhile: discovering previously unknown areas of London; regular Swedish massages; and running through the picket lines at East Greenwich fire station.
In memory of my grandfather, I've decided to run for the PCC. Please sponsor me for as much as you can - anything you can contribute is very much appreciated. As an added incentive, anyone sponsoring me for £10 or more will be entered into a draw to win one of two bottles of champagne.
