Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We did it!!! What a place and what a challenge. We saw some amazing sites, met some really genuine and lovely people. The challenge was hard, walking every day up some REALLY steep bits, sooo many steps, its a killer on the thighs! Not much sleep and very dodgy loos (they were a real challenge!). But bring on the next challenge!!

A MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who supported us in any way - every little bit really does help. So thanks again xxx

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. We all unfortunately know someone who's life has been affected by cancer, so by doing this positive thing we can all help.

My trek to China is only a small part of the challenge, raising the money is the other, but we are going to have fun doing it! I'll keep you informed of all the events we do and how much we raise.

Race for Life

Well i really need to do more training so I have set some mini goals to keep me going. Race for Life was one, 5K run, yes i did run!! well most of it, just a couple of walks, more for traffic really. Completed the 5K in 35.32, not setting any records but i was quite pleased with it! have a look at the photo in my gallery - check out the Nivea pom pom boys :-)

Come on England

Guess the minute the first England goal is scored has been running at The Academy in Harrogate, everyone who has been down to watch the match has bought a square, so far no-one has won, not really a suprise as there hasn't been many goals!! Come on England its for charity!

Every penny counts

Those ladies at the Trefoiled Guild have been busy again collecting coppers, bringing the total they have raised to over £200, thank you ladies.

Cakes cakes cakes...

The ladies of Pateley Bridge Trefoiled Guild musty have been baking all night to produce the spread they did for sale on Pateley Bridge high street, the table was groaning under the quantity of cakes - no-one was allowed to pass without a buying a cake so it is not surprising they raised a massive £160 and collected a few more sponsors for me on the day too! Many thanks ladies, it is really appreciated. Have a look on the picture gallery to see the ladies in action!

Teas at Fewston

Baking baking baking.....

If i see another scone I'll be sick! All our friends and families really came up with hte goods on this one. We had a table groaning under the weight of cakes (lots of cakes - not heavy cakes :-)!!). We made a staggering £800 on the day - we were told to expect to make about £400! We also had a treasure hunt round Swinsty - we left Rick in the cold selling sheets and directing peple to the hall to warm up. Harley and her friends rolled up their sleeves and washed up - thank you! I think the biggest thanks goes to my Mum for the unbelieveable amount of baking she did xxx.

Shopping Night

A night for the ladies, we had some lovely stalls, jewellery, clothes, bags make up etc. it was wvery relaxed and everyone had fun and bought a few pressies! Thanks to the ladies who had a stall, we appreciate your support. And a big thank you to the ladies who came we hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Masterchef

Well what a night - what set of to be a Master Class in culinery skills and a delight to the taste buds fast became Comedy Night at Birstwith thanks to Mr Gary Plant who kept us all entertianed mainly at the expense of his poor wife Sheila! The food was fab and the contestants were great sports. Even Rick and Ryan took part!! It was a really fun night - but looked really professional thanks to Piranha at Knaresborough who gave us Materchef Aprons to wear and DeSigns who made a big Masterchef sign for the wll -thank you!!

It should be a really good night, we have an interesting bunch of wannabe chefs cooking. If you like food and you like a good laugh please buy a ticket.

We have lots of different stalls, gifts, clothes, jewellery, make up chocolate, what more could a girl want - wine!!??Yep we have that too! Just £5 a ticket includes a glass of wine. Come and shop, and don't feel guilty its for a good cause!

1/3/10

Well our first official event went off really well. A Chinese New Year party, we raised over £1200 on the night plus some very generous donations from friends. The whole event really had us buzzing and feeling positive about our challenge. The food was fantastic personally i think it was the way the veg were prepped, but some of it could be to do with Anna the chef who gave up a romantic meal out with her partner to chef for us - thanks Anna. Our auction of Priceless Promises went really well - we sold Rick and Matt our partners for a reasonable amount! Andrea and I unfortunately made a bit less!!! The whole evening finished on a flutter of Chinese Lanterns being released which looked brilliant. Thank you to everyone who came, helped, gave generously and made the evening a fantastic night out.

28/1/10

We made it in to the paper, and a lovely lady sent us a letter wishing us well and a donation. There are some really kind people out there.
