<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">I am running Bupa 10K on Sunday 20th May 2012 at Manchester in support of <span style="color: #ff0000;"><em>G.U.C.H. (Grown Up Congenital Heart Patients’ Association)</em>. </span>This is a charity that supports young people and adults with congenital heart defects (defects from birth).</span></strong></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">This charity is particularly important to my family and I, as my sister has a complex congenital heart defect, which affect her life considerably.</span></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> I want to raise as much money as I can for this cause as it provides invaluable medical and emotional support, information and understanding from people who have experience of what it is like living with a congenital heart condition.</span></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">I am also running as I wish to express my support for my sister’s bravery and raise awareness for her and all those with similar conditions.</span></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Due to my sister being born with Transposition of the Great Arteries, Pulmonary Atresia (blocked Pulmonary Artery) and a large hole in her heart (Ventricular Septal Defect) she has endured many heart surgeries, including one at 6 years old. I have added pictures of her recovery from this operation.</span></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">My sister also had Open Heart Surgery at the age of 14, this is when she was introduced to the charity GUCH whom provided her with help and support and put her in touch with others in similar situations, so she did not feel isolated.</span></strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">She is due to have more surgery in the near future, where she will again be looked after by the GUCH team at the hospital and recieve support from those on the GUCH message board.</span></strong></span></p>
