Two years ago our friend Sarah was involved in a horrendous bus accident in which she tragically lost her mother, suffered serious leg injuries herself, and in which her 2 year old daughter Pollyanna very sadly lost a leg. Pollyanna and our eldest son were in the same anti-natal class.
The story was covered by her husband in the Daily Telegraph.
Thoughts of Sarah's and Pollyanna's continuing daily battles will motivate us to complete the race. We will be raising money for Sarah's chosen charity the Limbless Association for which Sarah has been raising money for research into new limbs, and also for children and adults in developing countries who don't have the same access for new legs like Pollyanna. The money also funds the Association in its work helping amputees to come to terms with their loss.
That horrific day is poignant to us as our second baby was born that day.
