Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Most of you know why I am running for headway, but in case you don't here is a little background. My sister, Lynsey, was involved in a very serious road accident while on a cycling holiday in Costa Rica in March last year. She suffered a severe brain injury which left her in a coma for over a month and in intensive care for close to two months. Over the past year Lynsey has been making great progress - she is able to recognise people, nod and shake her head, and has made major improvements in her physio so she is able to take a few steps with support from others. Over the last few months she has also started to talk (and shout) a little bit. There is still however a long way to go, and while we remain very positive, at this stage it is difficult to even suggest her final outcome.

Headway is a charity which was set up to give help to those who suffered from a brain injury and those close to people suffering from a brain injury. Their mission is to promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide information, support and services to people with brain injury, their families and carers.

This is not a charity I was especially familiar with prior to March but this is now a cause which as you can imagine I believe very strongly in. Running a marathon is certainly not my idea of fun but I wanted to do something for Lynsey so please please donate!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

If you would like further information about Headway please do let me know

Love

Cath xx
