Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have finally taken the plunge and am running the London Marathon in April 2014.  I have been running for about 6 years for myself, but now it's time to give back.

On April 11th 1993 my mother died of cancer after a battle of 18 months. She had colon cancer, and died less than 2 months after Bobby Moore, a hero of mine had died of the same cancer.  Yes, I am a West Ham fan.  She was cared for at the end by the Royal Mardson Hospital in Surrey, England, where she had been treated.  Her cancer was advanced when diagnosed and she participated in a study for new treatments. This gave us some 18 months after diagnosis, longer than originally predicted. Since then, cancer has taken my brother-in-law, father-in-law, aunt, to name a few.  I know many people who have been affected by cancer.  Recently a friend was diagnosed with brain cancer, and I decided it was time to do something.  Please help me.  I will do the training and the running, all you have to do is donate.
