Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am planning on doing a number of swimming challenges to raise money in memory of my Dad.
As most of you know, my Dad sadly died in August 2012 aged 68. He had a rare liver condition - called primary sclerosing cholangitis. He was awaiting a liver transplant, but became too unwell to be put on the list. I have chosen the British Liver Trust to support - to raise awareness of this condition and to help fund research and awareness about liver disease.
My Dad loved swimming and was very good at it. My brother and I have great memories of swimming in pools as well as in the sea, lakes and rivers with him when we were growing up. He gave us confidence and a love of water and these swimming challenges seem a good way to remember him and to raise money for a charity that makes a big difference to others.
My swimming challenges of 2013 are :
Complete 5k in a swimming pool as part of the swimathon - thats 200 lengths! - 27/4/13
Swim 2 miles in Lake Windemere (Great North Swim)14/06/2013
Swim around the Palace Pier in Brighton - 1250 metres date tbc
Swim one mile in the Thames (Great London Swim)31/08/13
EEEEEEEEKKK!
I will keep you updated here and please do donate for this great cause
Thanks
