My Daughter Georgina has Rett Syndrome, she was born healthy but before she had reached the age of 2 Rett Syndrome had stolen her ability to talk, feed herself or make positive movement.

She is nearly 17 now and instead of talking about what university she is going to or what prom dress she will wear, something I do for her other 3 sisters, I am talking about how best to help her move into an adult world where she can be safe and happy.

Rett Syndrome has been cured in the lab! what we need now is money to facilitate this cure moving into clinical trials and eventually into mainstream health care.

To this end I am taking on a challenge to raise money for Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK but this time it’s a biggy, 5K every day for 50 days (gulp) so one day in the near future Rett Syndrome can become a thing of the past.
